Gliese 581 g, also known as "Zarmina's World," is a potentially habitable planet with a 37-day orbit, a mass three to four times that of Earth, and one side that perpetually faces its red dwarf star. Planets e, b, and c, which orbit closer in, are shown in the distance.

Trained as a scientific illustrator, Lynette Cook worked with researchers and science educators at the forefront of scientific discoveries. She also has been featured on ABC7 News (KGO) and in USA Today. In 2010 Cook shifted direction toward realist painting, her first love.
